The Atlanta Airport is called the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). It is known as Hartsfield Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson or simply the Atlanta Airport. It is located about 7 miles form the central business district of Atlanta, Georgia. In terms of passenger traffic and number of flights, this airport was named the busiest airport in the world in 2008. It has the world’s largest airline hub, the Delta hub. Apart from Delta Airlines, the airport is also the primary hub of AirTran Airways, Atlantic Southeast Airlines (a Delta connection partner).

The Main Terminal at Atlanta has the North Terminal and South Terminal. The airlines operating from North Terminal are Air Canada, AirTran, American Airlines, British Airways, Continental, Frontier Airlines, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Midwest, Spirit Air, United, US Airways and Wings Air. The South Terminal serves Aero Mexico, Air France and Delta Airlines.
The Concourses at Atlanta Airport are Concourse A, B, C, D, E and T.
Concourse A at Atlanta Airport(ATL) – Airlines operating from here are Delta Airlines and Delta Connection operated by Shuttle America.
Concourse B at Atlanta Airport(ATL) – Concourse B airlines are Delta Airlines, Pinnacle Airlines and SkyWest Airlines (Both Delta Connection).
Concourse C at Hartsfield-Jackson airport (ATL) – This is the hub for AirTran Airways and Atlantic Southeast Airlines.
Concourse D (ATL) – Airlines operating from here include Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, AirTran, Continental, Delta, Frontier Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, US Airways etc.
Concourse E – Concourse E has Air France, British Airways, Delta, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Northwest Airlines, Delta connection operated by Pinnacle and Shuttle America.
Concourse T – The Concourse T gates are directly attached to the terminal building. The airlines operating from here include American Airline, American eagle, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, United Express etc.
The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) provides numerous facilities for the passengers including a large choice of restaurants, retail outlets, telephones, vending machines, currency exchange, Interfaith chapel, Medical center, pre-paid phone cards, U.S. Post Office, ATMs etc. The ATM at Atlanta airport is that of Capital City Bank.
Transportation / commuting between terminal and concourses at ATL (Concourse Shuttle) –
There are moving walkways and pedestrian walkways between the concourses. Also, the Transportation Mall at Atlanta Airport has an Automated People Mover (APM) which has a station at the eastern end of the Main Terminal (which also serves as the station for concourse T) and a station at each of the other five concourses. The second station at the main terminal is for arriving passengers.
The entire APM system is located within the secure area of the airport. The trains run 24/7 and are convenient connection to the concourses.
